Canva is software available online (on a website) that allows you to easily create designs for your home, church, school, club or business – anything you can think of can be created in Canva.

Canva also has an app available for both the Android or the Apple devices.

In this course we will be showing screenshots and video on how to use the web version of the software.

Creating an Account

There are several ways to create an account in Canva. These include

  • Using your Facebook credentials (preferred)
  • Using your Google credentials
  • Or signing up using your email

Go to www.canva.com to create an account using one of the above methods.

Canva Templates By Industry

If it is the first time you have used your Canva account, you will be asked to choose an industry, the software will then show you templates suitable for this industry – but ALL templates will still be available for you.

Select the industry that best suit your needs.

The Canva Dashboard

The Canva Dashboard will appear on the page. This screen is broken into different sections. On the left hand side of the screen is a menu tha allows you to access projects, apps and more. At the top of the screen is a search bar, and some popular design tools such as flyers, instagram posts & social media. Below this may be thumbnails of previous designs (if you have used Canva before) or some suggested designs for you to work on.
