What is a PC?

The personal computer (or PC) is a microcomputer that is designed to be used by one person at a time. The PC was introduced into Australia in the late 1980’s, prior to this, computers were designed for companies who attached terminals for multiple users to single large computer that held resources for all users. The term PC has been traditionally used to define ―IBM compatible machines or compared to Apple Macintosh

A personal computer was a term developed in the 1970’s for newer smaller types of computers that could be used by an individual working at a desk instead of the older type computers that required a team to use and filled a whole room. The first personal computer was created by IBM, International Business Machines but since then many other companies also create computers such as the desktop and laptop.
