What's ahead for August

We have some great classes coming up over the next 4 weeks. Canva Classes will be held again this month for 2 weeks, starting 21st August. If you use Microsoft Publisher for your church, sporting group or other organisation, you are going to have to back up your work as the program will no longer be available from October. A free alternative is Canva (and it was developed in Perth, Western Australia),

The Sounds of Music group has two special presentations on August 6th; the theme is Countries, so please bring along music related to Countries. On Thursday, August 11th, we will be showing the musical of the month “The Music Man”.

  • Armchair Travel are off to Japan on the 17th August

Birthstone of the month

Our birthstone this month is the Peridot. Called the gem of the sun by the ancient Egyptians, this stone is formed from volcanic activity or meteorites and ranges in colour from lime to an olive green.

Flower of the month

Daffodils, scientifically known as Narcissus, are popular bulb-forming perennial flowers famous for their bright yellow, white, and orange trumpet-shaped blooms. They signal the end of winter, thrive with minimal care, and are famously used as symbols for renewal and cancer charities worldwide.
