My Aged Care Seminar
FeaturedRailway Station 23 Railway Avenue, Horsham, VIC, AustraliaHorsham U3A is pleased to host a free information seminar in partnership with Grampians Community Health, focusing on recent and upcoming changes to My Aged Care and home care packages. If you or a family member receives support at home now, or are thinking about applying in future, this session is a chance to hear clear, up-to-date information and ask questions in a friendly setting. Date: Tuesday 26 May Time: 3.30 pm Venue: Horsham U3A, Railway Station, 23 Railway Avenue, Horsham VIC 3400 Cost: Free information session The Australian Government is rolling out significant reforms to in‑home care, including the transition from traditional Home Care Packages to the new Support at Home program from 2025–2026. These changes affect how services are organised, what supports can be included in a package, and how budgets and fees are managed. It can feel confusing to keep up, especially when you are already juggling health, family and day-to-day life. Presenters from Grampians Community Health will explain what the changes mean in practical terms for older people living in our region. The session will cover topics such as registering with My Aged Care, understanding assessments, what “Support at Home” is, and how to make sure your services match your needs and goals. There will also be time for general questions at the end. This seminar is aimed at Horsham U3A members, carers, partners and family members who want to feel more confident navigating aged care options. You are welcome to bring a friend, and printed information will be available to take home where possible.
