It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of our esteemed Life Member, Helen Fleming, on the 31st of August.
Helen was a much-loved and dedicated fixture of the Horsham U3A community, having served on the Committee for many years. Always generous with her time and energy, she played an invaluable role in shaping our organization and supporting its members.
Beyond her committee work, Helen was widely known—and playfully feared—for her razor-sharp intellect, particularly around the Scrabble board. Her formidable vocabulary, quick wit, and competitive spirit made her a formidable opponent and a delightful companion during our regular group activities.
Helen’s warmth, sharp mind, and steadfast commitment to U3A left a lasting mark on all who knew her. She will be deeply missed by her fellow committee members, friends, and the broader community.
