Whether you love to travel, read, get out into nature or learn new digital skills, this week’s program is a great chance to try something new and meet like‑minded people. Below are some of the groups we’re specially highlighting – you’re warmly invited to come along, have a cuppa, and join in.

These are our fave picks for this week, which ones will you be attending?
Armchair Travel – Italy
No passport required. Our Armchair Travel session this week takes us to Italy, all from the comfort of our U3A room. Expect a relaxed mix of photos, stories, history and a few quirky facts you won’t find in the guidebooks. It’s a lovely way to “get away” for an hour, share your own travel memories, or simply enjoy seeing the world without airport queues and long flights.
Join Rhonda and Mike as they review their travels to Italy.

Reading 4 Pleasure
If you love books but don’t want the pressure of homework, Reading 4 Pleasure is for you. This friendly group focuses on enjoyment first: members share what they’ve been reading, swap recommendations and chat about favourite characters, authors and genres. You don’t need to have read a set text to join in – just bring your latest read, your curiosity and your love of a good story.

Nature Watch
Our Nature Watch group has a real treat lined up this Wednesday at 10.00 am – a special nature documentary double feature. Settle in as we first enjoy “Finding the Way,” narrated by David Attenborough, exploring how creatures like beetles and birds navigate their world, followed by “Australia’s Deadliest Destinations,” narrated by Greg Grainger, showcasing some of our country’s most remarkable – and formidable – landscapes and wildlife. It’s a relaxed, café‑style morning: come along to watch, share a cuppa, and chat about the wonders (and dangers) of the natural world with fellow nature lovers.

Mosaics
Our Mosaics group is all about creativity, colour and conversation. Under friendly guidance, you’ll learn how to design and assemble your own mosaic pieces using tiles, glass and other materials. Beginners are very welcome – projects can be as simple or as detailed as you like. It’s a wonderfully hands‑on way to relax, experiment with pattern and texture, and go home with something beautiful you’ve made yourself.

Canva
Curious about making your own posters, cards or social media graphics? Canva Part 1 is a beginner‑friendly introduction to this popular free design program. We’ll take you step by step through the basics: choosing a template, adding text and images, and saving or printing your designs. You don’t need to be “techy” – just bring your interest and we’ll help you build confidence on the computer while having fun creating.
