Local History: Droughts & The Wars History isn’t just about dates and distant battles; it’s about how global events echo through local communities. For a farming region like the Wimmera, the trials of the early 20th century were often fought on two fronts: the battlefields overseas and the unforgiving climate right here at home. This month, the Horsham U3A Local History group is proud to host a fascinating presentation by local historian and U3A Vice President, Bob McIlvena, exploring exactly this intersection of hardships: Droughts and the World Wars.
