June’s President Report

All classes are running smoothly although attendance has been down due to winter
viruses.
Five members came along to the Zoom meeting in the main room on Tuesday, June the 30th
at 3 pm to listen and ask questions of Jade Benham MP, shadow minister for ageing. This
series of meetings forms part of U3A Victoria’s strategy to strengthen relationships with
government and position U3A Victoria as a trusted voice on lifelong learning, healthy ageing
and issues affecting older Victorians.

There are 44,000 members of U3A throughout Victoria.
The next Zoom meeting will be on Tuesday the 1st of September at 4pm and will follow a
similar format of talks, questions and answers, chaired by U3A State President Annie Grigg.
Ingrid Stit, MP, Minister for Ageing, will be the invited guest.
All of your committee members are now receiving the Victorian Network News. A monthly
rundown on what’s happening throughout the state and access to online programs that U3A Victoria makes herself available to our members. All members can access this. If you have an email address, you can also access this valuable tool for news and learning.

Keep in mind our car park sale on Saturday the 14th of November, shuffle through your
cupboards and put aside things that you no longer use but are still in good order. We would like you to price your own offers and put them aside for the car park sale. A sausage sizzle will be offered on the day.

Keep warm and well
Cheers
June
