Horsham U3A’s Local History group will meet on Monday 23rd February at 10 am in the Main Room for a special screening about the Snowy Mountains Hydro-electric Scheme, one of Australia’s most significant engineering achievements and a defining chapter in our post-war history. The video presentation will explore how the scheme was built between 1949 and the early 1970s, its impact on electricity generation and irrigation, and the experiences of the many workers and migrants who helped create it. We apologise for a change to the previously advertised program, which has been altered due to Bob McIlvena's being in hospital; we wish them a speedy recovery and look forward to welcoming them back when they are well enough to return. All Horsham U3A members are welcome to attend this session and share in a relaxed discussion following the screening.
