Kings Birthday Public Holiday
Monday 9th June is a Public Holiday due to the King’s Birthday celebrations. Please check with your tutor if classes will be continuing as normally scheduled.
Musical "Words & Music"
The Sounds of Music monthly musical presentation for June will be “Words & Music” – an American biographical musical film loosely based on the creative partnership of the composer Richard Rodgers and lyricist Lorenz Hart. The film stars Mickey Rooney as Hart and Tom Drake as Rodgers, along with Janet Leigh, Betty Garrett, Ann Sothern and numerous musical stars. It was the second in a series of MGM biopics about Broadway composers. Cameo performances by Perry Como, Judy Garland, Lena Horne, Gene Kelly, Cyd Charisse, Janet Leigh, Mel Torme and Vera Ellen. Please note the earlier than normal start time of 9.45am.
Technology Group
Our Technology Group will continue its exploration of the free apps from Google with a look at Google slides. We will be creating presentations adding text, images, music, animation and more.
Don’t forget next week, we will be hosting a second Tech Cafe. This will be on Friday 20th June from 10am for 2 hours. If you are having problems with your phone, tablet or pc, come and talk to Trish or Robin and see if we can help sort the issue. This is a free workshop that is open to the public.
Women's Circle Cancelled
Unfortunately, our Women’s Circle group has been cancelled for the rest of the year. We apologise for any inconvenience and wish tutor Sue Winfield a speedy recovery.
U3A has a wide range of courses and interests
