Have you ever wondered what Horsham U3A is all about? This week is the perfect time to find out.
All week, our classes and groups are open to welcome visitors. Whether you love creative writing, want to get to grips with technology, enjoy a good chat over a cuppa, or simply want to meet some friendly faces, there’s something here for you. You don’t need any experience, and you don’t need to be a member to drop in and have a look.
Open Day: Wednesday 14 October, from 2pm to 4pm
On Wednesday afternoon we’re throwing open our doors. Come along to:
- Meet our group leaders and members
- Find out what’s on and how each group works
- Ask questions about joining
- Enjoy a cuppa and a chat
Bring a friend, a neighbour or a family member. There’s no pressure, no obligation, and plenty of friendly conversation.

Monday
If you’ve ever wanted to put pen to paper, Writing for Fun is a friendly place to start. The group meets twice a month, on the 2nd and 4th Monday, with classes starting at 10am. Members share their writing, swap ideas and enjoy each other’s company.
The group has recently published their book, Double Spaced Thoughts, a collection of stories written by the group in 2025. This week’s session is the 2nd Monday of the month, and Rhonda says it’s going to be very interesting, so come along and find out why!

Tuesday
Do you have some German, whether it’s from school, a trip abroad or a family connection, that you’d love to dust off? Our German Conversation group meets once a month for relaxed chat in German, whatever your level. This week’s session is on Tuesday 13 October at 10am in the Main Room.

Wednesday
Come and see what Horsham U3A is all about at our Open Day on Wednesday 14 October, from 2pm to 4pm
We’ll have Devonshire teas for everyone, displays of work made by our lovely members, and come and try stations where you can have a go at something new. Our members will be there to chat about their groups and answer your questions, so come and speak to us.
Bring a friend, and come hungry for scones!

Thursday
Do you love words, or a bit of friendly competition? Join our Scrabble group on Thursday 15 October, starting at 1:30pm. Whether you’re a seasoned player or just want a casual game, you’ll find a friendly table and a warm welcome. Come along, shuffle your tiles and see what you can make of them.

Friday
Pick up your needles or your hook and join our Knitting and Crochet group, which meets every Friday afternoon from 1:30pm. It’s a lovely way to spend an afternoon working on a project, picking up tips, and enjoying a chat and a cuppa. Whether you’ve been stitching for years or you’ve always wanted to learn, you’ll be made very welcome.
