hello apil

Hello April

April is a busy month on the calendar, and at Horsham U3A we think that’s a perfect excuse to celebrate a few fun themes as we head into term.

April is recognised as National Card and Letter Writing Month, National Poetry Month and National Humor Month – all a great fit for lifelong learners who enjoy words, creativity and a good laugh. It’s also Stress Awareness Month, plus there are special days for volunteers, librarians, pets and even penguins scattered through the month.

This year we’re leaning into the lighter side of April by featuring our “Favourite Pets Through the Years” quiz on the Horsham U3A YouTube channel. If you haven’t had a go yet, make yourself a cuppa and test your knowledge of famous animals here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rg9Io–GGo4&t=1s

As you look through our April program of classes and groups, you might like to:

  • write a real card or letter to someone special
  • bring along a favourite poem to share
  • tell a gentle joke or funny story to brighten someone’s day
  • show us a photo of a much‑loved pet, past or present

However you choose to mark the month, we hope April brings you plenty of colour, conversation and connection at Horsham U3A.
