2023 Community Event of the Year

” A germ of an idea, a change of format and the Community Groups Expo came into reality. Well, not really, as it took   lot of work by the U3A committee, and input from it’s tutors, to show the Horsham community what U3A was all about. At the same time, it exposed to Horsham and District just how many voluntary organisations are looking after its welfare.

Our grateful thanks go to Ann Sprague for putting this event forward to the Horsham Rural City Council for consideration for the Community Event of the year. This was followed in due course by a phone call from our Mayor Robyn Gulline, telling me that our Horsham Community Groups Expo 2023, was a stand out winner of the award which will be presented on Australia Day 2024.

We don’t look for rewards but this one was well earned by all of us. Thank you.”
