Organise Your Files Week

Organising your files is just a part of regular computer maintenance. There are several ways you can organise your files on a computer (PC or laptop).

  1. Rename your files РYou can easily rename your files  by clicking on them once to select them and then either pushing the F2 button on your keyboard or right click to bring up a menu and choose rename. Type the new name, being careful not to overwrite the file extension after the . at the end of the name. Press Enter to lock in the new name.
  2. Create a folder to hold like types of files such as music. Modern PC’s and laptops already have a dedicated folder for photos and videos. However you can create new folders withing these. For example you may have a number of photos from a recent holiday or event. To create a new folder. Right-click on a blank area on the screen, then choose New -> Folder. Give your folder a name and then you can drag and drop your files into the new folder. Or you can right click on the file and choose Move -> select the folder you want to move them to.
