DESCRIPTION:From June Liddy				\n				\n				\n				\n					A year of grants\, growth and good company.				\n				\n				\n				\n									Looking back over the last 12 months our U3A committee and membershave been very busy. 								\n				\n				\n				\n									On Wednesday the 20th of May 2025 we held a very successful “BiggestMorning Tea”. Joyce Lane and the committee will again host this eventon Tuesday the 19 th of May. Be sure to come and join in the fun for thisvery worthwhile cause. 								\n				\n				\n				\n									On the 18th of May 2025 we Hosted Creswick for a 500 card day. This was the start of a Grampians Challenge for 500 cards. We were delighted that Creswick U3A followed this up with a further Challenge when several other U3A’s joined in. Horsham hold the next challenge onthe 18 th of May and Ballarat U3A will hold a Challenge in October. 								\n				\n					\n		\n					\n		\n					\n		\n					\n		\n				\n						\n					\n			\n						\n						\n					\n			\n						\n				\n					Our Year 				\n				\n				\n				\n					In Review				\n				\n				\n				\n									Check out our year in review video if you have not yet seen it.  								\n				\n				\n				\n							\n					\n						\n				\n					\n		\n				\n			\n						\n				\n																														\n				\n				\n				\n																														\n				\n					\n		\n				\n			\n						\n				\n																														\n				\n				\n				\n																														\n				\n					\n		\n					\n		\n					\n		\n					\n		\n				\n						\n					\n			\n					\n						\n				\n							\n			\n		\n						\n				\n					\n		\n				\n			\n						\n						\n					\n			\n						\n				\n					Equipped with a team of volunteers				\n				\n				\n				\n					Thank you				\n				\n				\n				\n									Tutors and Special Helpers were honoured with a luncheon at the Horsham Sports and Community Club in December. U3A could not operate without their help and expertise. Coordinated by Rhonda Coffey. who also runs the very successful writing for fun class. Altogether U3A offers 32 classes. 								\n				\n				\n				\n									Our grateful thanks also go to Mum & Dad U3A Karl and Elizabeth Kaucner who not only run films and music but do the housekeeping for our everyday needs. 								\n				\n					\n		\n					\n		\n					\n		\n					\n		\n				\n						\n					\n			\n						\n						\n					\n			\n						\n				\n					horsham u3a gives back				\n				\n				\n				\n					To Our Community				\n				\n				\n				\n									We supported the HSCC when our U3A contributed three hampers for families in need at Christmas time.Registration day on the 15 th of January saw an excellent take up of membership increasing steadily up to 182 as of today. 								\n				\n				\n				\n									In May we were successful in our grant application to West Side and have now in our possession a web cam and tripod. Trish Maybery has already made use of this recording some of our guest presenters. \nThe highlight of March was the installation of our new smart TV. I spoke to members who came to watch classic movies on a Tuesday; they were delighted with the greater size and clarity of the film. Many options will open up with this new addition to our main room such as online classes\, meetings and enhancement of our armchair travel and history classes. \nThe installation of our new cupboards in the office\, as a result of a successful grant application to the HRCC and coordinated by Judy Dillon has streamlined our office area. 								\n				\n					\n		\n					\n		\n					\n		\n				\n			\n					\n						\n				\n							\n			\n		\n						\n				\n					\n		\n					\n		\n				\n						\n					\n			\n					\n						\n				\n							\n			\n		\n						\n				\n					\n		\n				\n			\n						\n						\n					\n			\n						\n				\n					horsham u3a gives back				\n				\n				\n				\n					To The Year Ahead				\n				\n				\n				\n									In the broader community we have publicised our presence with stalls at the Plaza and Bunnings and with Joyce’s talks on triple H radio as well as newspaper appearances where Rhonda provided pictures of some of our popular classes. 								\n				\n				\n				\n									Our U3A could not operate without the 10 volunteers on our committee.Secretary Joyce Lane\, Treasurer Judy Dillon\, Vice President Bob McIlvena\, Maintenance Officer Bill Goodwin\, Coordinator Rhonda Coffey\, Grants Officer Mike Coffey and Trish Maybery our IT expert. \nNew to our ranks this year is Dawn Reading. We coopted Paul Dillon\, a couple of months ago he will join the new committee. Thank you all for supporting me in the effort to make U3A Horsham & District a great place to connect\, learn and socialise.
