SUMMARY:Local History: A Tribute to Horses
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a special Local History session on Monday\, 28th September\, as Bob McIlvena presents A Tribute to Horses. This engaging talk traces the remarkable story of horses through time — from their earliest origins and domestication to their vital role on farms and in everyday rural life. Bob will also explore how horses shaped exploration and opened up new frontiers\, as well as their profound and often overlooked contribution to warfare throughout history. Whether you’re a horse lover\, history buff\, or simply curious about one of humanity’s most enduring partnerships with the animal kingdom\, this session promises to be both informative and moving. All welcome — come along and discover the incredible legacy of the horse!
