Joseph & The Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat

On Thursday, December 12th from 10am, the Sounds of Music group will be presenting the 1999 film adaptation of the Broadway play Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat. This film stars Donny Osmond, Marie Friedman, Richard Attenborough and Joan Collins.
Based on the Biblical story, it tells of how Joseph is given a coat of many colours by his father, making his older brothers jealous. The brothers initially plan to kill Joseph but end up selling him to a slave trader who is passing through. The brothers then take Joseph’s coat back to their father (dipped in goat’s blood) and tell their father that Joseph was attacked and died.
The story continues on Joseph’s new life in Egypt until his brother’s trip to Cairo seeking assistance from the prolonged drought. A trip that reunites the family under strained circumstances.
